International Arbitration Center in Tokyo (“IACT” or “we”) respects your autonomy and protects your privacy in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This policy applies to information we collect:

1.    To ensure that you have the autonomy to make choices regarding your personal information, we have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

b.     By opting out from the access and use by unaffiliated or non-agent third parties if you do not want to share your personal information for third-party marketing and/or advertising. You may opt out by sending an email to info@iactokyo.com.

c.     By opting out from the access and use by us or non-agent third parties if you do not wish to have your email address/contact information used for promotional activities. You can opt-out by sending an email to info@iactokyo.com. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may send us a return email asking to be omitted from future email distributions. This opt out does not apply to information provided to IACT as a result of use of our services, products, or other transactions.

d.     By opting out from the access and use by us or non-agent third parties if you do not wish to have your information used for target advertisements according to our advertisers' target-audience preferences. You can opt-out by sending an email to info@iactokyo.com.

2.    Third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising is not governed by us. You may be informed of ways to opt out by third parties. You can also consult the Network Advertising Initiative ("NAI") on the NAI's website.

F.   Accessing and Correcting Your Information

1.    You have a right to review and change or delete your personal information by contacting us. You may log into the Website and visit your account profile page.

2.    We cannot delete your personal information except by also deleting your user account. Your request for change or deletion of your information may be denied if we reasonably believe the request would violate any law or cause the information to be incorrect.

H.  Our Protection of Your Information

1.    IACT’s Website is hosted on the Wix.com (data processor).  Wix.com provides the online platform that allows IACT to provide information and promote services.

2.    Your information may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general applications, using secure servers behind a firewall until it is deleted by IACT’s annual data retention review. 

3.    Your personal data may be transferred internationally to another jurisdiction when we need to transfer your information for the performance of our duties and services, including engagement of a third party located in a foreign jurisdiction. In such circumstances, the information to be transferred is limited to the data we actually need to transmit across a national border.  

4.    IACT Secretary General serves as a Controller under EU’s General Data Protection Regulations Article 30.

5.    IACT does not engage in automated decision-making, or profiling.

6.    Your personal information is secured from accidental loss and unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure through industry-standard security measures.

7.    Any transmission of personal information involves a certain risk. The security of your personal information transmitted online is influenced by various factors. To enhance safety and security of your information, we request your account information not be shared with or disclosed to others.  

I.    Children

A person under the age of 16 may not provide any personal information to IACT. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please contact us.

J.   Amendments

This Privacy Policy may be amended from time to time. Revisions to this Privacy Policy will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website. Material changes to how we treat users' personal information will be notified by email to the email address specified in your account. The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for supplying an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for our communications with you, and for periodically visiting our Website.
